Configuration of  exchange 2007 server  xchn7.college.edu
Hi there. I'm setting up a new Xchng 2007 server, xchn7, for an Outlook class in our college. We need to configure students access to xchn7 in three scenarios: 1) Using Outlook when in campus by login to the AD domain that has the Exchange server xchn7 as a domain controller. 2) When at home, by using Outlook configured to connect to remote (in campus) xchn7 server (is this using the DNS name xchn7.college.edu as in accntname@xchn7.college.edu?) 3) By web browser from anywhere by using http://xchn7.college.edu and accntname to login . Help please. G.R.

Hi - You can absolutely accomplish everything you require. As to item #2 above, which contains the only question mark, you'd use the public FQDN of the server as the servername in Outlook Anywhere. The userrname can either be the UPN (username@ADdomainname.com) or DOMAIN\username. If yo need more help please write back with more specific questions about the problems you're encountering.Lanwench ** Do not fold, spindle or mutilate. Fill in the box completely and erase any stray marks. Use only a #2 pencil.

exchange server 2007 ships with easy to deploy "outlook anywhere" . apart from instructions from links im previous post please ensure that you get a UCC/SAN certificate from any provider. (you can have own CA. that increases your job as you would need to distribute the keys to the clients) the UCC/SAN should have following names 1. Autodiscover.yourdomain.com 2.netbios name of your exchange server 3.FQDN of your exchange server as your both owa and outlook anywere urls are similar to fqdn of exchange server should be good in your caseDhruv
